1. About this policy
This policy explains how EnharComm Pty Ltd ("EnharComm", "we", "us" or "our") handles personal information when you visit enharcomm.com.au, contact us, subscribe to our newsletter or work with us on a project.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. By using our website or giving us your information, you agree to it being handled as described here.
2. What we collect
We only collect the information we need to respond to you and deliver our services. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:
- Contact details - your name, email address, phone number, organisation, role and business address.
- Project information - details you share about a site or project, such as location, energy use data, electricity bills, drawings, photos and system information.
- Communication records - your enquiries, emails, meeting notes and our correspondence with you.
- Subscription details - your newsletter subscription, preferences and whether you open or click our emails.
- Website data - technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and time on site.
We do not ask for sensitive information (such as health information) and ask that you do not send it to us.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you:
- complete a form on our website, such as Start a project, Contact or a resource download;
- subscribe to The EnharComm Quarterly;
- email, call or meet with us, or attend one of our events or webinars; or
- engage us to deliver a project.
We may also receive information from your organisation, from other parties working on your project (such as builders, installers or facility managers) or from publicly available sources such as company websites and LinkedIn.
4. How we use it
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and prepare proposals and quotes;
- deliver our engineering, advisory and project management services;
- send you the resources you request;
- send you The EnharComm Quarterly and updates you have subscribed to;
- run and improve our website and services;
- manage our business, including invoicing and record keeping; and
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We will not use your information for an unrelated purpose without your consent, unless the law allows or requires it. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Emails and the Quarterly
We only send marketing emails, including The EnharComm Quarterly, where you have subscribed or we otherwise have your consent, in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
Every email we send includes a link to unsubscribe or update your preferences. You can also ask us to stop at any time by emailing [email protected]. Unsubscribing from marketing will not stop emails about a project you are working on with us.
6. Cookies and website data
Our website and the platform that hosts it use cookies and similar technologies so that the site and its forms work properly, to keep the site secure and to help us understand how the site is used.
You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies, although some parts of the site, such as forms, may not work as intended. Our website links to other sites, such as LinkedIn. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.
7. Who we share it with
We may share your personal information with:
- Service providers who help us run our business, such as our website, CRM and email platform, file storage and IT providers;
- Project parties where needed to deliver your project, such as network service providers for grid connection applications, installers, contractors and suppliers;
- Professional advisers such as our accountants, lawyers and insurers; and
- Government bodies or regulators where the law requires it.
We require our service providers to handle your information securely and only for the purpose we engaged them for.
8. Overseas storage
Some of our service providers, including our website, CRM and email platforms, may store or process information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
9. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes using secure, access-controlled systems and limiting access to the people who need it.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, such as tax and engineering record-keeping requirements. When we no longer need it, we take reasonable steps to securely destroy or de-identify it.
10. Access and correction
You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days, and there is no charge to make a request. If we cannot give you access, we will explain why in writing.
11. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
